Single purpose

Volume Control has a single purpose: to let users control the volume of individual browser tabs, including boosting audio output and muting tabs.

All permissions and locally stored data serve only this core functionality. The Extension does not perform unrelated tasks such as advertising, profiling, or data collection.

Information the Extension stores locally

When you use the Extension, the following may be stored on your device only:

  • Per-tab volume levels and mute states
  • Extension settings and UI preferences
  • Your chosen display language code

This information is used solely to control tab audio and is not uploaded to developer servers.

Information the Extension does not collect

The Extension does not:

  • Collect names, email addresses, or account identifiers
  • Log your browsing history or page content
  • Send analytics or telemetry to developer servers
  • Use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs
  • Record or transmit the audio content you listen to

How information is used

Any data stored by the Extension is used only for its single purpose: managing the volume of browser tabs according to your settings.

We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to this core functionality.

Data sharing and sale

We confirm the following, as required by the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies:

  • We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, except in the limited situations permitted by applicable law (for example, if compelled by a valid legal request). Under normal operation, no user data is transferred.
  • We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the operation or improvement of the Extension's core tab volume control functionality.
  • We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising.

Chrome Web Store compliance

This Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including requirements for user privacy, limited use of data, and responsible permission usage.

Data retention and deletion

  • Volume settings remain on your device until you change them, reset the Extension, or uninstall it.
  • Uninstalling the Extension removes locally stored extension data from your browser.
