Cursorly

What is Cursorly?
Cursorly is a Chrome extension that replaces the default mouse pointer with cute, styled, and themed cursor packs. Pick a pack, adjust the size, and browse with a cursor that matches your mood.
Our goal
We want custom cursors to feel instant and effortless: a large local library, real-time apply and resize, favorites, and light or dark UI - without forcing you to create an account.
Cursor library
Packs are synced from public cursor catalogs and cached on your device so the popup stays fast. Sources include sites such as cutecursors.com, custom-cursor.com, and other curated cursor collections.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what data Cursorly ("the Extension") processes and what we do not collect.
Cursorly does not operate user accounts and does not collect personal data for analytics or advertising.
Single purpose
The Extension's single purpose is to let you select, resize, favorite, and apply custom cursor packs while browsing websites.
All permissions and on-device data serve only this cursor customization functionality.
Data stored on your device
Cursorly keeps settings and a local cursor library only on your computer:
- Selected cursor pack, size, theme, accent color, and on/off power state
- Favorite cursor packs
- Install and update timestamps used for local version management
- A local IndexedDB catalog (cursorly-db) of cursor packs, pack details, collections, and sync metadata downloaded from public cursor websites
This information never leaves your device through Cursorly analytics or accounts. We do not operate user accounts.
Network requests
To show and apply cursors, the Extension downloads publicly available catalog and image files from third-party cursor sites (for example cutecursors.com, custom-cursor.com, and similar sources). Those requests may include standard browser metadata such as your IP address, which those sites process under their own policies.
Cursorly may open the Chrome Web Store when you choose Rate Us.
Third-party connections
The Extension lists cutecursors.com under externally_connectable so that approved pages on that domain may send messages to set or read local cursor configuration stored in chrome.storage.local.
Those messages update settings on your device only. Cursorly does not upload your browsing history to developer servers.
Permissions explained
- storage - Save settings, favorites, and related preferences locally on your device
- Host access (*://*/*) - Apply custom cursor CSS on websites you visit and load cursor images or catalog APIs needed for packs to work
What we do not do
- No browsing history tracking for advertising
- No sale of personal data
- No login, email, or payment collection inside the Extension
- No analytics or telemetry SDKs operated by Cursorly
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.
We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Under normal operation, Cursorly does not transfer user settings or the local catalog to developer servers.
Remote code
The Extension does not use remote code. All executable code is included in the Extension package.
Cursor images and catalog JSON are fetched as static resources from public cursor websites so packs can be displayed and applied.
Data retention and deletion
- Settings and the local catalog remain on your device until you change them, clear site/extension data, or uninstall Cursorly.
- Uninstalling the Extension removes locally stored extension data from your browser.
