What is Awesome Auto Refresh?

Awesome Auto Refresh is a Chrome extension that automatically refreshes web pages with multiple smart timers. It is useful for monitoring live data, keeping sessions active, or tracking updates without refreshing tabs by hand.

Single purpose

This Extension provides a single, focused purpose: automatically refreshing web pages at user-defined intervals. Users can set multiple timers for different tabs, pause or resume them, and track refresh statistics.

The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or browsing information beyond what is necessary for this core functionality.

This Privacy Policy explains how Awesome Auto Refresh ("the Extension") handles information.

The developer has disclosed that the Extension will not collect or use your data. All timer configurations and settings are stored locally on your device. There is no tracking and no communication with external servers for analytics.

Data stored on your device

When you use the Extension, the following may be stored locally in chrome.storage.local:

• Auto-refresh timer configurations (intervals, timer state, associated tabs)
• Theme preferences (light, dark, blue, or system)
• Notification preference (optional; disabled by default)
• Default interval settings and min/max limits
• Exportable settings used for backup and restore

This data is stored on your device and is never transmitted to external servers under normal operation.

Information the Extension does not collect

The Extension does not:

• Collect names, email addresses, or account identifiers
• Upload browsing history or page content to developer servers
• Send analytics or telemetry to external servers
• Use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs
• Read or modify website content beyond preventing onbeforeunload dialogs that would block refresh

Permissions explained

• storage - Save timer configurations and settings locally so they persist between sessions and popup opens
• alarms - Schedule automatic page refresh timers efficiently, including when the background service worker is inactive
• tabs - Reload scheduled tabs, verify tabs still exist, query the active tab when adding a timer, and open support or rating pages when you click those buttons
• notifications - Optionally notify you when a page has been refreshed (disabled by default; can be toggled in settings)
• Host access (http://*/* and https://*/*) - Inject a lightweight content script that prevents onbeforeunload handlers from blocking automatic refreshes, and allow chrome.tabs.reload on sites where you set a timer

Host access

Host permissions are required so the Extension can reload tabs where you configured timers and so a lightweight content script can keep refresh operations from being interrupted by leave-page dialogs.

The Extension does not access, read, or modify website content, cookies, or user data beyond what is required for this refresh behavior.

Data sharing and sale

We confirm the following, as required by the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies:

• We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, except in the limited situations permitted by applicable law.
• We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the operation or improvement of the Extension's core auto-refresh functionality.
• We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Remote code

The Extension does not use remote code. All executable code is included in the Extension package and is not loaded from external sources at runtime.

Data retention and deletion

• Timer settings remain on your device until you change them, clear extension data, or uninstall the Extension.
• You can export and import settings for backup. Uninstalling removes locally stored extension data from your browser.

Children's privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
