Introduction

TabPlay (Player on all tabs) ("the Extension") is a browser extension that lets you control SoundCloud playback from the Chrome toolbar and media keys while you browse other websites. This Privacy Policy explains how the Extension handles information.

TabPlay does not collect, transmit, sell, or share user data with any remote server operated by the developer.

Single purpose

The Extension's single purpose is to control an open SoundCloud tab: play, pause, next track, previous track, like, and display the current track name in a minimal popup.

All permissions and on-device state serve only this playback-control functionality.

Information the Extension stores on your device

When you use the Extension, the following may be kept temporarily on your device in chrome.storage.session:

• Playback UI state (playing or paused)
• Current track title and track URL shown in the popup
• Playback progress indicator
• Liked status for the current track
• Whether previous-track controls are available
• Identifier of the SoundCloud tab used for control (scTabId) and connection status

This session state stays on your computer, is used only to update the toolbar popup and action icon, and is cleared when the browser session ends. It is not uploaded to developer servers.

Information the Extension does not collect

The Extension does not:

• Collect names, email addresses, or account identifiers
• Upload browsing history or SoundCloud listening history to developer servers
• Send analytics or telemetry to developer servers
• Use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs
• Require a TabPlay account or cloud sync

How information is used

On-device playback state is used only to show track information in the popup, update play/pause icons, and send control messages to an open SoundCloud tab in your browser.

We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to this core functionality.

Host access

The Extension requests host access only to soundcloud.com and *.soundcloud.com so a content script can interact with the existing SoundCloud player controls in tabs you already have open.

The Extension does not inject scripts on unrelated websites. Controls from other sites work by messaging the open SoundCloud tab, not by reading those other pages.

Permissions explained

• storage - Keep temporary playback UI state in chrome.storage.session on your device
• contextMenus - Show a play/pause item on the extension toolbar icon menu
• Host: soundcloud.com - Talk to open SoundCloud tabs to click existing player controls

Data sharing and sale

We confirm the following, as required by the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies:

• We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, except in the limited situations permitted by applicable law (for example, if compelled by a valid legal request). Under normal operation, no user data is transferred.
• We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the operation of the Extension's SoundCloud playback controls.
• We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Remote code

The Extension does not use remote code. All executable code is included in the Extension package and is not loaded from external sources at runtime.

Data retention and deletion

• Session playback state remains on your device only for the current browser session.
• Uninstalling the Extension removes extension data from your browser.

Children's privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
