Miner Blocker
Last updated: July 16, 2026
What is Miner Blocker?
Miner Blocker (listed as Miner Blocker - Block Coin Miners) is a Chrome extension that blocks cryptocurrency mining scripts on websites before they load and consume your computer's CPU.
Single purpose
This Extension provides a single, focused purpose: block crypto miners on websites.
Permissions are limited to what that purpose requires: saving filter lists and settings locally, and blocking requests to mining domains.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Miner Blocker ("the Extension") handles information.
The Extension does not need your account credentials and does not mine cryptocurrency itself. It only stores local configuration needed for blocking and applies declarative network rules against known mining domains.
Data stored on your device
When you use the Extension, chrome.storage may keep:
- Filter list data used to recognize mining domains and scripts
- User settings for how Miner Blocker operates
This data stays on your device. The Extension does not upload your browsing history to a developer-operated backend for this product purpose.
Information the Extension does not collect
The Extension does not:
- Sell or broker personal data
- Use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to blocking crypto miners
- Use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
- Ship remote executable code outside the Extension package
Permissions explained
- storage - Saves filter list and settings locally
- declarativeNetRequest - Blocks requests to mining domains so miner scripts cannot load and use your CPU
How blocking works
declarativeNetRequest rules stop network requests associated with known mining domains and related miner scripts before they run in open tabs.
Protection applies while you browse websites in Chrome with the Extension enabled.
Data sharing and sale
We confirm the following, as required by the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies:
- We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, except in the limited situations permitted by applicable law.
- We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the operation or improvement of the Extension's core miner-blocking functionality.
- We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Remote code
The Extension does not use remote code. All executable code is included in the Extension package and is not loaded from external sources at runtime.
Data retention and deletion
- Local filter lists and settings remain on your device until you change them, clear extension data, or uninstall the Extension.
- Uninstalling the Extension removes its stored preferences from your browser profile as Chrome allows.
Children's privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
